Description

This is the First Manicule ever printed, found in “Breviarium Juris Canonici” – a breviary or summary of Canon law, compiled by Paolo Attavanti (c. 1445-1499) printed in Milan by Leonhard Pachel and Ulrich Scinzenzeller, in Aug. 28, 1479. 

The design was provided by Martin Majoor, who reconstructed the Manicule, improving by shortening the pointing finger, the original metal length of the type was 8 mm wide.

Letterpress Pair Old Manicule – Wood type printing blocks.

SIZE/DIMENSION/WEIGHT
Relief depth of 1.8 mm and total block depth is standard size of 0.918″ (Anglo – American type height). Please leave a message upon purchase, if you want different type height (German, Dutch, Danish, Italian, etc)

MATERIALS UTILIZED
French polished, end-grain beech wood.

PRODUCTION METHOD
New, uninked, unused printing blocks cut from dry, treated beech wood on a cnc milling machine, each item is hand finished.

CUSTOMIZATION OPTIONS
Additional characters or other custom typefaces, ornaments, borders, pattern, etc, of different sizes or relief depths may be machined upon special order.

SHIPPING
The shipping consist of regular economy postal service delivery and it is (at least) somewhere between 7 to 14 business days for E.U. and 14- 22 business days for the United States. Only orders over $ 75 will receive tracking information.
