Petrescu Press opened the cultural space “Gutenberg in the Digital Age” which hosts a Working Printing Museum MATS – Muzeu Atelier Tipografie Sibiu, that share the tools and skills to showcase traditional letterpress printing techniques. Petrescu Press teaches creative art letterpress workshops for children, students, adults, people from disadvantaged groups in a new capacity as a non-profit organisation in the city of Sibiu, Romania.

The letterpress activity of Petrescu Press in conjunction with the manufacture of wood type through Wood Type Customs, preserves and enriches the traditional printing craft for future generations in today’s digital age. In the long run we seek to strengthen the role of culture and art in increasing the well-being of society.
